PRINCE FOREVER HAPPY human skull and watercolor, 5.75" X 4.25" X 7.25", 2010. |
||
PRINCE FOREVER HAPPY was born from desire to represent transcendence of the fear of death. On a real human skull I have painted my name in Tibetan: RAJIVE SADA ANAND, the literal translation of which is the title of this work. Below my name, in Tibetan numerals, is the year, 2010. On the forehead is the symbol I have adopted as my logo, the crossed vajra. Like a wreath, encircling the back of the skull, is a lotus blossom. The symbolic meaning of the crossed vajra can be found by clicking here. The lotus naturally symbolizes transcendence because its seed is planted in the base mud of temporal existence and its stalk grows up through the water, out of it and its flower blooms in the sky. |
